There is nothing in this regard about Black Diamond that isn't true for all other lakes and ponds in WA. There are naturally occurring bugs in all non-flowing water. Just don't allow the water to go up your nose. Because a big fuss was once made, the water is now tested regularly, Collie Shire website has the results posted I think, or ring them. There is rarely even any detected, despite it being a natural water body. No-one has caught any diseases from Black Diamond, the media blew a routine lab result out of all proportion.
