The Vista House, built in 1965, provides panoramic views of the dam and surrounding landscape. It provides interpretive displays, restrooms, and a picnic area. Additional recreational sites along the reservoir shoreline provide opportunities for camping, fishing and day use.

The Boundary Dam Vista House is open! The visitor center, perched high on the cliffs to the east of Boundary Dam, is an amazing spot to take in expansive views south to the dam on the north-flowing Pend Oreille River, and north to Canada.

The Vista House is perched on cliffs above the east side of the Pend Oreille River, overlooking Boundary Dam. Exhibits cover such subjects as the hydroelectric project, indigenous wildlife and the border patrol. A trail loops down to an overlook, cantilevered over the edge of the canyon high above the dam; the view is spectacular.

2023年6月9日 · You can tour the visitor’s gallery, located deep inside a limestone cavern and check out the views at the Vista House and observation deck. The mined holes on the dam is where the generators are housed. The high voltage lines come from the generators out of the rock wall, then up to the leaning towers.
