Texas is home to the largest number of Dairy Queens in the U.S. The Texas Dairy Queen Operators' Council (TDQOC) runs a separate marketing website from the national website. So it's like a statewide franchise, and they market and manage themselves more independently than franchises elsewhere.

2021年6月16日 · Texas is able to have its own Dairy Queen menu because back in the 1980s, the Texas Dairy Queen Operators' Council negotiated with the parent corporation International Dairy Queen, Inc. to acquire the rights to their own marketing and menu. As such, ALL DQ's in Texas are different than any other state.

Dairy Queen corporate lets the Texas franchisees have their own association and run a much different menu than the rest of the US. The frozen treats are the same nationwide. The hot food promos and menus are quite different between Texas and the rest of the country. You can only get the Hunger Buster and steak fingers basket in Texas.

2017年4月11日 · I miss Dairy Queen's now defunct slogan: Hot Eats, Cool Treats. I often find marketing campaigns to be naive, condescending, or clueless. I believe consumers know what they want and aren't often swayed by slogans.

2022年11月11日 · Is there a reason Dairy Queen US doesn’t put the Orange Julius logo on their cups anymore? I remember we had them way back but suddenly got dropped for DQs slogan “Happy tastes good”.

2022年7月14日 · It is the virtue of being a franchised operation and thus independently owned that opened them up to getting different with their stuff. In the 80s the Texas Dairy Queen Operators Council (pretty much a collective of franchisees) negotiated with DQ proper to have their own menu and marketing.

2022年12月23日 · In Texas, for as long as I can remember, the slogan for DQ has been “That’s what I like about Texas.” So when I found out about 10 years ago that DQ isn’t even from Texas this has been a burning question for me.
