My seahorse tank has a large open water area where I figured the cardinal fish would hover. I have a pair of pajamas and a pair of bangaii.

2017年5月2日 · Good corals to choose for a seahorse tank are leathers, palys, zoas, most mushrooms, xenia, green star polyp, clove polyps, duncans, blastos, pagoda cup, and gorgonians. Most of these are hardy and will thrive in cooler water temperatures. Most macroalgae are seahorse safe and will also do well in water temperatures suitable for ponies.

Quality breeders provide growing seahorses with frozen foods AND enriched treats, so they will already be used to eating both.

2017年4月24日 · When it comes to seahorse tanks and purchasing a protein skimmer, I say the bigger the better! My protein skimmer is rated for a tank 3 times the size of my system and I don’t think it is overkill. I consider a good protein skimmer a “must have” item for a seahorse tank unless you plan to significantly increase your WC schedule.

2018年12月12日 · I have one of my seahorse tanks overloaded, but I have also had enough experience (learning the hard way, loosing seahorses) to know what I have to do to be successful, but also that I know I can keep it up permanently for the life of the seahorses involved in that tank. Life expectancy of standard seahorses runs 5-10 years when looked after.

2018年11月24日 · This seahorse prefers the canister filter intake to any of the artificial hitches! For example, live codium algae are a favorite of my seahorses! Codium has rounded branches and a spongy texture, perfect for a soft hitching post! The seahorses seem to only choose the fake plants if there are no other options.
