2023年8月10日 · Interesting that the Dewalt 735 with Byrd shelix cutter head really limits the amount of material that can be removed. I have a Dewalt 735 and follow these posts. This is the first time I have seen that mentioned. Myself, I have the feeling that despite its popularity, the 735 is just underpowered for a shelix head.

2022年11月7日 · Eventually I think I want to own a jointer/planer combo. In the interim (or possibly permanently if I feel satisfied with what I have), I want to get a lunch box planer. The Dewalt 735 with a shelix head (can now directly purchase this pre-installed from Byrd) or the Oliver 10044 which comes with the shelix head are the two top contenders).

2008年3月19日 · If a planer has some form of locking mechanism to prevent movement, like a cutterhead lock or 4-post design, snipe is typically a function of setup and technique, not brand or model number. I find it interesting that planer reviews actually try to measure the snipe and rate it when it's so dependent on the reviewers setup.

2004年12月17日 · Just wanted to give an update on my DeWalt planer situation. I'm happy to report that Amazon took back the old planer, refunded my money, and even paid for return shipping, even though it was well beyond their 30-day return period. With trepidation, I went to my local Woodcraft and bought another DeWalt DW735.

2009年8月29日 · In reading the opinions on the DeWalt 735 planer, the opinions are either very favorable or very negative, on this FWW forum and other forums. The negative comments often focus on the blades and how fast they wear out.

2010年3月1日 · I love everything about the Dewalt 735 planer, other than the leading and trailing snipes that I get on every pass at about 1.5″ at each end. I tried lifting up at outfeed, pulling down, leaving it alone, etc…

2011年4月30日 · I am fine-tuning my Dewalt 735 thickness planer so that I can build a credenza for a friend, made almost entirely of highly figured curly maple (“luthier quality”). Obviously, the thickness planer needs to be tuned as good as I can get it.
