If the previous owner didn’t use them, you get em, GameStop will usually not ever check, so it’s best to assume any used games have had the codes used even if they are still in the box as plenty of people use the codes and put the cards back in the case.

I ordered a ton of new games during the B1G1 and 80% of them came gutted and all the Switch games that came from that sale didn't have any extra seal sticker or bag and had their My Nintendo points used up.

Haven't been to GameStop in quote a while, used to go a few times every week but not so much lately. Recently got a PS5 and decided to check out used ps5 games and they had a used copy of ghosts of tsushima but rung up the new copy by accident but it was already opened with a new game price in it.

Saw someone post picture of some Sega Saturn games inside the DS and 3DS glass case they have in the store. Even saw a video of someone game hunting and they found a sealed Super Smash Bros Melee on GameCube.

One, GameStop gives you the same trade in value whether you have the case or not. And two, I’ve seen people purchase games from GameStop and other stores and have them come without the original case. So keeping my cases allows me get the same trade in value, and also help out people that have received games without the case.

Gamestop kinda acts like a thrift store and I can trade games I found at thrift stores for credit to then get those expensive games. So instead of spending $80 on Fishing Resort, I only end up spending $17. People don't seem to go to Gamestop for game collecting, but I think it's a great way to aid in collecting the newer generation games.
