Feb. 9, 1959 — Jan. 29, 2025. Yvonne Lee, 65, Spirit Lake passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. Per Yvonne’s wishes, cremation will take place, and no services will be held.

2 天之前 · Randall Dykstra, 70, of Everly, and Bridget Baird, 45, of Milford, were killed as the result of a collision north of Spencer on U.S. Highway 71, Friday afternoon, closing down the northbound lane to traffic for hours. Baird was northbound on the highway in her 2017 Nissan Rogue, when Dykstra, operating his 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, was traveling south in the northbound lane.

Local voters were tasked with deciding who would be the next District 5 Dickinson County Supervisor, and the unofficial count Tuesday night suggests Levi Markwardt will take the seat. Markwardt received 64 percent of the vote with 1,244 ballots cast in his favor. Candidate Tim Fairchild earned 689 votes for about 36 percent support.

2025年2月4日 · Harris-Lake Park girls defeat Dickinson County rival Okoboji in Milford Harris-Lake Park’s girls basketball team trailed Dickinson County rival Okoboji by as many as 15 points in the second half of their Monday night showdown, but the Wolves mounted an extraordinary comeback to defeat the Pioneers in Milford. The Wolves defeated the Pioneers 55-44 on Jan. 27.

2025年1月28日 · The Spirit Lake Park boys wrestling team dropped a pair of duals to Spencer and Humboldt on Thursday, Jan. 23. The Indians fell 59-21 to Spencer and 70-9 to Humboldt in Spencer. In their loss to Spencer, the Indians won three matches. At 106 pounds, Tyson DeWall pinned Caden Gress in 1 minute, 59 seconds. At 126 pounds, Kyson Jalas earned a 4-2 decision over Easton Beehler.
